Meccha Chameleon ships with several modes that completely change how you play. Here is what each one does and how to win it.
Game Modes
The four modes in the current version, with their win conditions (per Wikipedia).
| Mode | How It Works | Winning Strategy |

| Basic | Classic Hider vs Hunter hide-and-seek | Blend into vertical surfaces; stay still once painted |
| Infection | Tagged Hiders join the Hunter team | Hunters: tag easy targets first to snowball numbers |
| Double | Everyone hides first, then everyone hunts - the player who finds the most people wins | Hiders: use clones and poses to split attention before the hunt phase |
| Reverse Chicken Race | Each player paints themselves, then every paint job is shown on a pedestal; after the observation time, players hunt for each other | Create a memorable paint job and remember where you saw other players |
Custom Rooms
Custom Rooms are a server option rather than a game mode - the host can tune rules for up to 8 players.
